He literally wrote the book on fish carving. Fish Carving; An Introduction, published in 1988 is still the best-selling book on the subject. That same year, Bob was given an award by the San Diego Oceans Foundation and was commissioned to create the Roger Revelle Perpetual Award.
The 1990's sw him shift to creating life-size wildlife bronzes for zoos, animal parks and Corporate America. His sculptures can be seen at the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Viejas Outlet Shopping Mall, Busch Gardens, Cypress Gardens, Dallas Zoo, Toledo Zoo, Mission Trails Regional Park, Living Desert Zoo, Palm Desert Zoo, and at the Naval Medical Center San Diego.
At 66, Bob enjoys life at home with wife, Kimberly, where his passion for wildlife and nature keeps him busy carving commissions,teaching, publishing instructional manuals, and enjoying his baby grandson, B. Robert Berry.
