Shorebird Carvings by Bob Berry

I needed to fill a vacancy in my 2008 shorebirds. This bird was to fill the Eurasian Dotterel's spot because the Dotterel was on display for 1 year at the Ward Museum.
I admired this bird in the San Diego Zoo for many years, taking pictures and keeping a file for just this occasion. It is a very handsome plover, larger than a Blackbellied or Golden Plover.
I decided to take a departure from the typical driftwood base by faux painting rocks, which I think compliments it well.
