Shorebird Carvings

This bird was chosen for its wonderful breeding plumage coloration. I felt it was worthy competition against whimbrels and curlews. Both the stature of the bird and the fact that this is the best painting of a shorebird I've ever done, kept it in the Winners' Circle all year. The 3rd Best of Show was behind my 1st and 2nd Best of Shows, a clean sweep at the 2008 Ward World Championships, my personal best year in competition.
