Black Crowned Night Heron (2008)


Loading for an offshore fishing trip in San Diego, a Black Crowned Night Heron was perched on the stern of my boat. I had my camera and snapped siveral pictures before it was frightened away. Preparing for the 2008 Ward World Championships, I chose to make this carving for the Smoothie Waders Division.
